Managing your subscription¶
How to add or remove admin seats, and what happens when you do.
Pricing is per paid admin seat. Viewers are free and unlimited on every tier, and there is no node counting — see Free vs Pro.
Adding admin seats¶
- Open the subscription-management link from your Paddle receipt email, or use Admin → Users → Add seats in KubeManta, which takes you to the same place.
- Change the quantity on your subscription. The quantity is your admin-seat count.
- KubeManta picks the new count up on its next license check — within 12 hours by default.
- To apply it immediately, go to Admin → License → Re-check license.
That last step is worth knowing about: a seat bought a minute ago is not visible until the license is re-checked. If you have just paid and the seat count has not moved, you are not looking at a failed purchase — press Re-check license.
Your license key does not change. Nothing is re-issued, there is no new file to install, and no redeploy or restart is needed. The seat count travels as metadata on the license you already have.
Removing seats¶
Change the quantity down the same way. Nothing is taken away from you abruptly:
- No existing admin is demoted, and nobody is logged out. Seat limits are enforced on assignment only.
- If you now have more admins than seats, the install keeps working exactly as it is. What you cannot do is promote another admin until you are back under the limit — either by demoting someone or by adding a seat back.
This asymmetry is deliberate. A seat limit is a commercial control, so it is never allowed to interrupt an incident, block a login, or strip access from someone who already had it.
Billing behavior¶
Added seats are billed from your next billing period rather than charged mid-cycle; removed seats stop being billed from the next period. Nothing is pro-rated against you mid-month, and your license stays valid throughout.
If your subscription ends¶
The software keeps running and falls back to the Free feature set on that cluster. Paid features re-lock; nothing is deleted, disabled, or held hostage, and your data lives in your cluster rather than ours.
You keep the same license file, and you keep your existing admins — a lapse never strands a team unable to manage its own accounts.
To add seats after a lapse you need an active subscription again. There is no subscription to change the quantity on while it is cancelled or past due, so renew first, then adjust the seat count.
Air-gapped and reseller installs¶
The Add seats links in the product point at the public pricing page by default. If you buy through a reseller or an internal procurement process, point them somewhere useful:
Every seat prompt in the UI reads that value, so nobody is sent to a page they cannot buy from.
